How to add Supadesk to Shopify

Shopify stores get pre-sales questions on product pages, collection pages, and in the cart. This guide shows you how to add the Supadesk AI chat widget to Shopify by pasting one embed script into theme.liquid, so visitors can ask about sizing, shipping, or availability without leaving the page they’re on.

Before you start

  1. In Supadesk, open your agent and click Chat Widget.
  2. Click Copy Embed Code.
  3. (Recommended) Add your Shopify store URL to Allowed Origins — e.g. https://yourstore.com.

Install on Shopify

  1. In Shopify admin, go to Online Store → Themes.
  2. On your live theme, click ⋯ → Duplicate to back up before editing code.
  3. On the theme you want to edit, click ⋯ → Edit code.
  4. Under Layout, open theme.liquid.
  5. Find the closing </body> tag near the bottom of the file.
  6. Paste your Supadesk embed script on the line immediately above </body>.
  7. Click Save.

Shopify tip

Always duplicate your theme before editing theme.liquid. If something breaks, you can switch back to the copy without downtime on your live store.

Check it works

Open your storefront in a private browser window (not the theme editor preview). The chat bubble should appear in the bottom-right corner on your homepage and a product page.

Troubleshooting

  • Widget missing: Confirm you saved theme.liquid and are viewing the published storefront, not the theme customizer preview alone.
  • Widget blocked: Add your exact store origin (including https://) to Allowed Origins in Supadesk.

FAQ

Where should the Supadesk script go in Shopify?

Put the Supadesk embed script in theme.liquid immediately before the closing </body> tag. That location loads the Shopify chat widget across the published storefront instead of limiting it to one template.

Does Supadesk appear on product and cart pages?

Yes. When the script is added to the Shopify theme layout, Supadesk loads on product pages, collection pages, the cart, and other storefront pages that use the same theme.

Should I edit my live Shopify theme directly?

Duplicate your live theme first, add the script to the copy, and test the published storefront. Keeping a backup theme gives you a fast rollback if custom code is pasted incorrectly.
